Other Prestressed Concrete Structures
PCR Method
An underpass crossing under the Kintetsu-Yoshino Railway Line, Nara Prefecture.
The underpass was constructed by PCR Method ("Double-elements Pushed-In method") at a section between Kusurimizu and Fukugami of the Kintetsu Railway Line, Japan. The main dimensions inside are 11.0 m wide, 5.4 m high and 18.8m long.
Prestressed Concrete Pavements
Narita International Airport, Chiba Prefecture.
The prestressed concrete technology is also applied to prestressed concrete pavements for the airplane taxiways in the airport.
Prestressed Concrete Wharfs
Wharfs of the Kobe Port, Hyogo Prefecture.
For the reconstruction works of the Kobe Port heavily damaged by the Great Hanshin Earthquake, the prestressed concrete wharfs were constructed by the fast construction method of large-scale blocks of pretensioned prestressed concrete girders.
Prestressed Concrete Tanks
Mizusawa Egg-shaped Digester, Iwate Prefecture.
The tank's shape of egg is one of the most efficient for sludge treatment. The tank's capacity is 2,000m3 and the maximum inside diameter 15.44 m long with the depth of contained water 19.76 m.
