PC Shelter
The prestressed concrete (PC) shelter is a multi-segmented arch structure that has the beauty of the shape peculiar to flat plate arches and rationality. PC shelters have various uses and purposes, such as snow shelters for drifting snow, soundproofing shelters for tunnel entrances and other locations where noise reduction is desired, wave shelters where waves break against the shore, and parking shelters for changing tire chains. PC shelters have high durability because the prestressed structure provides protection from severe corrosion damage from, for example, anti-freezing agents, sea wind, and seawater.
Features
- The construction period is shortened by assembly of precast concrete members.
- Workability is excellent by application of a rational division method (three-hinge structure).
- The flat-plate arch shape is landscape-friendly and harmonious with many settings.
- Brightness inside the shelter and visual distance are obtained by fitting the sides with windows.
