Pier-Rifre Method

Pier-Rifre Method Pier-Rifre Method is an earthquake-resistant reinforcement construction method by fixing up pressed-into-ground steel plates on reinforced concrete bridge piers. Without any preliminary unit, thanks to the advantages of this method, soils shall be excavated just between the steel plates and the existing piers, the construction costs and period are thus streamlined, and environment-friendly construction work are materialized. Even in such sites as the open-cut method or the temporary construction of cofferdams are not possible, this Pier-Rifre Method can be a solution.
Pier-Rifre Method is featured into two applications: the one for reinforcement for shear force ("Pier-Rifre Method") and the other for bending force ("Pier-Rifre Method - Bending force specifications").
Based on the same principle, we have developed "Kui Taishin - SSP (Super Strengthening Pile Bents) Method" for earthquake-resistant reinforcement for pile bent bridge piers and "PC Well-Rifre Method" for earthquake-resistant reinforcement for PC wells.

Features

As seen above, this method is economical and environmental-friendly. Large temporary facilities such as cofferdams or wharfs are not required. Not only excavation and waste soils but also affects on the river bed and river traffic are minimized.
