ONR Method
The Original New Reform (ONR) method is a maintenance method that combines cross-section repair and surface coating for the purpose of preventing damage or deterioration of concrete structures.
The ONR method has four types: Part 1, Part 2, peeling prevention V2, and new application. ONR method Part 1 has obtained a technical evaluation certification from the Road Management Technology Center, which is accredited by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, which regulates the construction industry in Japan. Furthermore, ONR method Part 1 is applicable to the standard index values of 3-6 for Protection of Concrete Surface in the NEXCO standard of structure construction management manual and can be applied to waterproofing for girder edges.

Features
The ONR method has good extensibility and resistance to crack elongation because it employs a chloroprene rubber.
Part 1 (type for preventing deterioration by salt damage)
- Part 1 has good salt repulsion property and waterproofing property, which prevent penetration of salt or water from outside the coating.
Part 2 (type for suppressing alkali aggregate reactions)
- Part 2 has good salt repulsion property and waterproofing property that prevent penetration of salt or water from outside the coating.
- It has good moisture permeability to expel water trapped inside the concrete structure or water that has penetrated from the outside.
Peeling prevention type V2
- Type V2 has a good peeling prevention property to prevent pieces of concrete from falling after application.
- It has good crack impregnation performance in which the sealant penetrates into cracks and provides durable performance for preventing penetration of fluids that can corrode steel.
- Type V2 satisfies standards given in the NEXCO structure construction management manual (2019.7, Peeling prevention).
New application
- This method was developed for new building construction from the viewpoint of preventive maintenance, and it is considered to have superior workability and appearance in addition to the features described for Part 1.
Girder edge waterproofing type
- This water proofing prevents deterioration due to leaks from expansion joints and deterioration factors such as airborne salt.
- It satisfies standards in the NEXCO structure construction management manual (2010.7, Protection of concrete surface).
