NAPP (Non Abutment Pretensioning Prestressing) Anchor Method

There nowadays increase modification works such as connecting new concrete structures to the existing ones to elongate the bridge abutments and to thicken bridge piers, and installation of deflection stoppers or earthquake-resistant reinforcement structures or walls.
The conventional connecting method is by means of rebars and however calls for drilling many holes for rebars. If the rebars of the existing structures are too dense, the modification work may turn hardly possible.
NAPP Anchor Method is a new connecting method for solution. NAPP units fitted at the drilled holes, that can be relatively in small numbers, of the existing concrete structures introduce prestress to the both new and existing structures to be connected.

NAPP Anchor Method

Features

  • By the introduction of prestress as above, the new and existing structures are firmly united without gap at the connecting parts.
  • The NAPP units are produced in qualified and authorized factories and ensure introduction of prestress to the structures on site.
  • The introduction of prestress to the structures is materialized only by releasing the NAPP units. This makes it possible to economize man-hours and shorten the construction period.
