PCR Method
Pushing-in of Prestressed Concrete Girders
PCR Method (Prestressed Concrete Roof Method) is a non-open cut method to construct underpass and/or tunnels without disturbing the existing crossing-over railways operation or traffic circulation. We have completed more than 80 projects by PCR Method, of which the longest one is 60 meters long.
Types of PCR Method
Box Shaped Tunnel Type
Box Shaped Tunnel Type
After PCR girders are embedded, transversal prestress is introduced to the entirety of the girders with pre-grouted wires to be fitted around them. The entire structure is then made equivalent to a prestressed concrete box culvert.
Through Girder Type
Through Girder Type
After PCR girders are embedded, prestress is introduced to the main girder in the longitudinal direction and to the PCR girders in the transversal direction. As a result of the rigid connection of the girders, the entirety of the structure is finally built up as equivalent to a prestressed concrete through bridge.
Features
- Crossing-over railways or traffics above the PCR Method structure are hardly affected even during the construction period, as small split elements are embedded.
- Small earth covering for the construction work reduces overall construction costs and period including the construction of the approaches.
- The embedded PCR girders build up the structure itself. This reduces associated works as compared with other construction methods.
- High quality and durability is ensured thanks to precast products.
- Construction is possible even at narrow land surface sites for shaft thanks to precast products of small individual structural members.
